The big guy is pushing 80cm and had broke a few lids on the 8foot tank so i moved him out to the 9000L pond 2months ago and he has not eaten since, the water is perfect, nitrates 5ish ppm, ph nuteral, temp 27. but he just wont eat, the only luck i have is about 6 hakari sticks once a week. he is verry skinney now but still looks heathy and is acting normal towards other fish. he used to devour anything that would fit in his mouth, prawns, pellets, chicken and up to 4 blue pillies some days. ive tried soaking the food in garlic but still nothing, any ideas? ide love to here them...

Hi Noah.. Aros can and sometimes fast while being moved.. how old is the fish btw? i've had my largest go without food for 3 weeks.. and other mfkers have had them fasting longer.. are there are any small fish in the pond? what are the other pond mates? there could be stress from moving but usually takes about a week for them to settle down.. i'd suggest you stick to hikari pellets for now.. and try avoiding chicken.. most of us here avoid mammalian meat cos that is not somethin they would find in their natural diet.. if you could, try crickets.. meal worms.. earth worms.. post some pics please.. of your aro and the pond..
hed trouble with the picks, but he is 6 now, there is a few brazilensis in there that breed now and then but nothing eats them the babies grow up and start to take over so i remove them when they get 5-8cm. he is in with a gator gar a little bit bigger, 2 60-65cm clown knifes and a pair of acanthus adonis. he has sulked before from moving and loosing a partner but nothing like this.
