I got a new lenticulata pike about 10 days ago and have yet to see it eat. It is probably 10-11" and seems healthy. My fish get pellets, silversides, fd krill and frozen shrimp. I would try some feeder goldfish, but with the datnoid, bass and aro would have to drop at least a dozen in at once for the pike to have a chance at one.

Anybody have some tips to get this guy/gal feeding? Or am I panicking a little early and should just stick with what I'm doing?

It also might be eating scraps when you're not looking. Keep trying and let us know how it turns out!

That is a possibility as the bass leaves scraps and I am not always watching where they end up. I have added earthworms to the mix and although the pike seems interested is still not actively feeding.

Just give it time and see how it turns out... sounds like you're pretty much doing everything you can at this point--providing a variety of appealing food. The garlic thing is worth a try.

I had a 9" Black Rhom that didnt eat for 3 weeks,he was looking weak and sick,he would not eat anything even "live".I took some raw shrimp soaked in Garlic juice for a few minutes, dropped it in the tank and in a minute he devoured like six shrimp, this has worked for other fish i have had, give it a try and let us know how it works out.:headbang2

Tried the garlic/shrimp combo today, no luck yet.

I have had the pike for almost 3 weeks now, think I'm going to have to try some feeders.

Try frozen catfish nuggets, Hikari Massivore, and frozen Krill. Those are the three foods I've had the most success with.

You can get catfish nuggets (unbreaded) at Walmart for about $5. Just chop them up into manageable pieces.

Be patient, some pikes are super stubborn. It'll eventually come around.
