heater controllers do malfunction-often in the "on" position. :irked: Or the element breaks and/or the housing waterproof fails. Your symptoms sound like a broken thermostat stuck in the "on" position. not good, useless your having a fish bake.:D good news is that the 250w watt heater may take a long time to cook 110 gallons.

Try putting the heater in more stable water conditions,
Or just trash it & get a Stealth.I just got 2 of them 17.99 each for the 250s.

Your jager isn't broken, but it does sound like it needs to be calibrated. A 250W jager will take 110 gallons well over 90dF without problem. Try calibrating the heater, this should fix your problem.

Figure out what setting produces desired temp (This can be done in 5 gal bucket of water) Remove top cover take knob off like you would an oven knob and move it to the new found correct setting for proper temp. Could be just a fraction off witch is a big deal.....Good luck.
