trout questions

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have found some, but there isn't any info about if they ship or not, they are pretty far from my area.
it would be difficult to transport them.

The reason you can't find any that ship is mostly because the trout won't survive the shipping process. They are very sensitive fish, which explains why few people keep them. Even the site I linked to doesn't guarantee live arrival on trout.

The only people I have seen here who have trout have either caught them, or had contacts at fisheries who were able to supply.

Anyway, I hope you have a big tank with a chiller if you are planning on getting them, especially in CA. If you can't keep the water in the mid-60's forget about it, they won't survive.

yeah, i have an old chiller my dad used to use for sw.
I'm planning on using it for the trout. yeah i saw smith creek fish farm earlier, but i cn't figure out how to order from them.
thanks !
