The title is a bit misleading since most of these are char, but I think it’s ok since many of the popular “trout” in North America are char (brook trout, lake trout, bull trout).

I believe that most of these are rarely talked about because of language barriers.

The Huchen has always been one of those semi-mythical fish that I dream about pursuing (as an angler, not an aquarist). Gotta love a fish that hits a soft-plastic fliptail bait about a foot long. :)

Don't think I have ever heard of the White-spotted Char, but definitely a cool-looking fish.

That last one...looks like something that was spit up by one of the other two as it was being landed...:)

So, they're all salmonids, but how does a char differ from a trout or a salmon?
Ok, googled it myself, this is useful
Trout-vs-Salmon-explained.jpg

This doesn't include grayling and a bunch of other species that are also in the order Salmoniformes.

That’s crazy! Did any of them get to a decent size?
Cherry salmon and white spotted char lived quite well in that aquarium.
Cherry salmon reached about 25cm (freshwater form of cherry salmon grow only about 20~30cm unlike their ocean form)
White spotted char reached about 50cm and it was one of the most aggressive species i'd ever kept.
