I just picked up a Tru Vu 280 Gallon with center dual over flows. Drilled on each end for the returns. Tank foorprint is 96"x24"x30" I need ideas on a stand, I'm already thinking about cinder blocks. But might build one, not sure yet. As for the filtration i'm thinking of doing it Japanese style, anyone have any ideas on how i should approach this? Any input is appreciated, Thanks.

Using 2x6 and 4x4 lumber it wouldn't be very difficult to build a basic stand for that tank, Later on you can skin the stand in plywood to make it look nicer.

I may be in the minority here but whenever I see a cinderblock stand I hear the theam song from deliverance running through my head.

I don't think if its a good idea for me to use cinder blocks either, Earthquake country. I'll look into the wood stand, any ideas for a design?

sure I'll post my normal basic design and let you add in the measurements and details....oops no I wont...I'm on the wrong computer. Get back to you in a moment...

This might be a bit long...

Thanks, now i just gotta figure out the filtrations.

twin fx5's a pair of emporer 400s with supercartrages and a pair of hydro5 air driven sponge filters.

Don't do the cinderblock stand. Looks cheesy and is unsafe. Why take the chance of destroying your tank, its inhabitants, and your floor if something happens....spend a few extra bucks and do it right.
