True frustration >:/

Just need to vent, been battling nitrates and nitrites the past few days, been doing 2 water changes a day for 3 days and they still are sky high. Finally decided after loosing my firemouth to drain down to about 25%. Refill back up to 50% then back down to 25% again then refilling. Anyone else ever experience this issue???

Have you checked your tap water lately? Maybe the city is doing some sort of treatment that is causing you problems.

if you have an established bacteria colony in your filter(which it sounds like you don't then you can change 75% of the water every week with no problems or spikes. I do this on a regular basis with one of my overstocked tanks.

Yeah the tank is still fairly new, about 6 weeks in. Should be finishing the cycle process soon I hope.
