True Gar?

I saw this labeled as a spotted gar at my lfs...I asked the guy there if it was a true gar and he said yes. But i didnt trust him cuz he doenst really know his stuff. I took some pics, but im not sure how to get them off my phone and onto my computer. I emailed to myself but they are wierd files so mfk cant attach them. It looks alot like a hujeta but patterened like a spotted gar.

the picture is marbled gar-(Boulengerella maculata)its not a true gar
some things to look for in ''true gars''
True gars have
Nostrils at the end of the snout not near the eyes
have rounded caudal fin not forked
have no adipose fin
dorsal and anal fin do not taper rearwards
 
I have a closely related species, and they are a blast to keep. Also, MUCH easier to accomidate than a true gar.
