True Green Terror

There is the Gold Saum, White Saum, and wild-caught Aequidens Rivulatus.

I am not exactly sure myself, but I do have a few pictures to compare. The first is a wild-caught specimen from a remote area in Peru. I am not sure if anyone else has ever had any of these. The second is what I believe to be a gold saum.

The Gold and White Saums often have a different scale pattern, get much larger, and show more aggression.

Maybe other people have insight? All I know is that the first picture is definately a wild-caught Rivulatus 'Peru, that is VERY seldom seen in the trade (if at all? I believe we were the first to import the peruvian variant, in 10+ years?). I believe there are some coming out of Ecuador, but they are 'farm-raised' food-fish, which are where the saums may have derived from. These ones usually come in pretty large, and get huge nachul humps. Could be a species variant as well I suppose?

just something to think about because I'm not by any means saying Jeff Rapps is wrong or anything like that...however, in a book written by Dr. Horste Linke and Dr. Wolfgang Staeck they have a picture of the exact same fish that is show above as a true rivulatus and that is also the same fish Rapps was selling as the true rivulatus. However, in the book (I'll have to look up the name because I can't remember off hand) it shows the picture of that fish and talks about how at one time it was believed to be the true Aequidens rivulatus, however that was wrong and the fish was actually a closely related species and was not the true rivulatus. My only problem was they didn't provide a picture of the true rivulatus though I believe they were only providing pictures of fish they'd taken and positively id'd through scientific study so it's possible they simply never came across the true rivulatus. :)

So when I look at people's pictures on here saying Green Terror or in their avatars they have GT's, they're most likely not real green terrors? And how big do the "fake ones" cost. And will a LFS lable them as GT or Gold Suam? Thanks
