late on the reply but i was trying to find one of these teugelsi because mine recently died. and i can attest that it is much bigger than 16" it was longer than my ornate which is around 26" its just very cylindical body and long not fat just long. when i saw 16" max on my search, i had to double check, but perhaps the reason is i bought it at 22" , so perhaps in the wild they get much bigger. it was diffinitely different from the rest of my bichir, like a moke or palma style body just really magnify to 3 times the size. it was the biggest length wise bichir in my tank, not the heaviest thought, mainly because congi just have too much girt.
