So here are my five little Midas. Haven't posted in a while so I snapped some pics. They're tough to photograph since they won't stop lookingImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1361145894.664488.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1361145908.140833.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1361145919.439740.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1361145929.104380.jpg at me head on. And don't mind the random female pink convict. She's there so I can hopefully pick out males sooner. ive got 6-7 of them as well from FWP, my largest is about 4" now. its funny that they are not aggressive in the least bit at the moment. they share a 150g. i only have one that is white like yours, i have a few solid orange one piebald and 2 creamcicle

Wish that guy would keep its dorsal black....

Me too brotha. He was the darkest one out of the batch and his whole body faded except for the deep black patch on his head. I know it's a long shot but it would be sweet to have a big male with a black hump. So far I have one creamsickle and the black patch. The other three are well on their way to orange. The led lights in this 75 wash them out a bit but I can't justify buying a new t5 when I have a perfectly good led.

Update. The one with the black on his head developed more black, then faded it out. It developed black markings on the caudal fin that it has kept for the time being. All 5 are growing at a pace of 1/2" per month so far, but I expect that to increase when they hit 5 or 6". Still no aggression with each other. The tinfoil barbs (2) that I put in with them are working superbly. No cichlid on cichlid aggression, just the random chasing of a tinfoil barb that they cannot catch. The female pink convict in the tank is now showing breeding dress, and although the Midas are surely not sexually mature, I hope this will stimulate the community in such a way as to identify makes from females so I can make the first round of trade ins. I'm hoping to gradually trade in the weak and the ugly until I have a pair. If there is no remarkable looking pair, I will keep the best male or the best female and search for another true f1 Midas partner. My end goal is to supply my lfs with great looking true Midas, as the owner admits that his midevils are in fact midevils, and he would also like to work to seperate the species.

Well I just added 2 small senegals. I now have 1 Senegal lol. I saved him before the Midas could murder him like they did to the other. I guess that what I get for feeding them worms and then adding a little wormlike fish.
