what are there differences

On Festae the first bar forms a "y" where it doesn't on the the Uro, theirs is just a single straight bar. The Ocellus on the Festae is smaller and above the lateral line, it's larger and above and below the lateral line on the Uro. Uro's colors look washed out and Festae are vibrant and colorful. Male Festae have lots of blue spangles on the body and fins and Uro's don't. Female Festae have a black foward part of the dorsal fin and and a few blue dot's on the rear of the dorsal and Uros don't. I think male Festae grow larger than Uros do but not sure. Festae are from S. America and Uropthalmus are Central American. Festae are cool and Mayans drool.

i hope GT understood that 1000 x better than i did O_o...

beauty...I had a mayan which was marked orginally as a RT. I had very washed out looking colors. You can compare Balton777 Avatar to a picture of my Mayan...

those are probably the reddest fins i've ever seen on a uro.
around my area i've come to realize that if it isn't labeled as festae it isn't a festae, for some reason lfs' around here think that a red terror is a uro. although that one of the better places have two midas labeled as festae :irked:

A festae has more of a beak shape mouth and the dot by their tail fin is smaller that only takes up half of the tail fin but uro(false)and the dot on them takes up a whole tail fin

That's a good looking Uro.

I'm not sure what you're talking about.
Here's a picture of my Festae, will you explain where the beak is?

That's a good comparison photo of a female festae and female uro.

Uros that I've had:

Female

Not all of them are dull. Their colors may not compare to a fully colored female festae but they can have some keen looks to them.
