True or myth?

20lbs rock isnt a ton, it can house BB to some extent u may notice a minor ammonia spike. also depending on the rock it may raise PH, so removing it could lower your PH which rays will appreciate.

if the rock is leeching minerals into the tank then yes, removing it could alter your water parameters, but as mentioned, in a way that would most likely be beneficial to your rays.

^^^This.

Marine rocks could leech calcium to your tank-It also depends on the kind of rock too- for some fish that would be OK for others not so much. Being said that, then assuming your rocks are the kind of rocks that dont leech calcium then your params shouldnt be affected if removed at all.

10kg in 220gal isnt much and with constant water changes it shouldnt have much effect as you remove what rocks let in the water..still better without such stones - unecessary risk :)

(sorry for my poor english:) )
