I'm aware that these guys are super-rare, especially in this size. I also have my LFS looking out for one.

Buuuuuut, if anybody happens to know where I can find a real Merodontotus Tigrinus catfish that's above 6'' and under 11'', I'm very interested.

I simply can't see buying one at 2-3'' (which I've found online) for the price they still cost that small, and not be able to put it in my tank for a year.

paradise aquarium in ridgewood has one for 260$ there is also a guy in chinatown that has a big one for 800$

Sorry, been away for a day and just saw this. I've seen that store before. I think I noticed the Tirginus first there, but they were already monster-sized, like at least 16''. And I haven't been back to the store because when I saw the shape their Dats were in I almost cried.

Oh, well thanks for letting me know about it even if you were considering it yourself. Yeah, I honestly think it's a pretty good price for the fish. Especially because it looks healthy and has been there a while so is pretty stable.
