I got this little guy from my LFS. I was told he was a trimac. But from comparing pics, his color does not look it. But I am a newbie so what do I know. Please help ID and tell me what you think?

The pics are far too blurry to give a creditable opinion....

I think he is a trimac.

if you can turn the isolation up on your camera

There's too much mixed blood with Trimacs now days. Imho if you didn't get this guy from a reputable breeder as a true Trimac unfortunately you have to consider it to be mixed.

IC I really don't if he is or not. I really love his colors and markings. I would have bought him, even if he wasn't a trimac.

This is basically how I would look at it. Nothing wrong with keeping the fish if you like it though...I just wouldn't pass any possible offspring as pure trimac

/\/\/\/\/\ I agree. I wouldn't trust a LFS to sell me a Trimac UNLESS they are also supplied by Rapps, Conkel, etc.

Eitherway, as long as it makes you happy. ROCK WITH IT!!!!:headbang2

That's how I see it too. They often make great fish to keep. It's just when it comes to breeding it....
