ok so i was on tegutalk when i found a vid. from varnyard that shows a bad case of MBD. caused by the common myth that you can substitute UV light for vitamin D3. i figure this might help out future tegu owners and possibly kill that dumb myth.

Very true, for most lizards there is no substitute for a good uv lamp or better yet direct sun ligth. It however must be alongside the proper varied diet, temperatures and some suplements

do you need uv if you keep lizards in a greenhouse enclosure?

edit: i do have a bulb but im curious as the room my iguana is kept in has window on all sides.
