Does anybody out there have any experience with aquarium stands made by Truvu? They say they are built only with plywood. You would think they would have some sort of internal frame but Truvu says an internal frame is not needed. So I am asking if anyone has one of their stands.

Well I recently bought a used Tenecor tank with their wood stand. I ended up reinforcing it with 2x4s because I was so not impressed with the way it was built and was nervous that it would not hold up in the long run

My very nice R&J Enterprises stand is plywood. I've never heard of this type of stand failing. Plywood can handle a lot of load on its side edges.

Thanks for info. If I get the stand I will report. For plywood support the support would need to be parallel with the grain. Yes plywood can be pretty strong on edge. The company assures me that the way they craft the stand they are plenty strong. Used successfully for years on 300gal plexi tanks.
I'm always concerned about collapse due to racking. But the Chinese glass tanks I have just have aluminum supports and not much in the way of shear panels.
Oh well we shall see.....
