Here's some pics of the 10 gallon my bullfrog lives in for now.. The first three pics are from about a month ago.. I wanted to use the waterfall fountain thing before she got too big, and its almost time to give her more room. I just thought this moss looked good in the tank, but I never could get it to grow on the rocks.. The cave is a cd-rom spindle cover with a door cut out.

Then in the last pic I tried using vermiculite for substrate and trying a couple of plants and the moss, hoping they would actually GROW instead of just being there. But the bullfrog went on a rampage and after several crickets the plants were uprooted, destroying my dreams of a planted bullfrog tank.

I'll keep yall posted on what I decide to do with the tank.. Bullfrogs need more water than is in that fountain, so I may have to get simplistic. Oh well.. It was nice while it lasted!

Looks good. I remember seeing some bull frogs for sale in Chinatown in a pet store. They looked cramped in a 10g. I actually never really paid much attention to them until I saw those monsters :D

Ya, that's cramped. I suggest moving it to a 55G.

i agree with the 55 gallon. they are big animals

And they have really powerful legs, so she'll need lots of space incase she gets startled. To give you an idea of what size tank you'll need, I've seen them swallow robin whole.

death pony, you have seen them eat robins?!?!?!? wow, that must have been awesome to witness. bring your video cam next time. ive only seen the discovery channel show where they show one eating a sparrow at water side. bullfrogs are pigs. they even try to eat my bobbers while i am fishing. if it moves and they are nearby, they will try to eat it lol. you definately will need a bigger tank soon coldwater!!!

well I also have a 55 gallon with 5 goldfish, a LMB and a yellow bullhead.
What would be a better setup for a bullfrog?

I've seen them eat young painted turtles, and caught one that regurgitated a freshly-eaten northern water snake (snake was a baby of course). I would probably keep it in a more aquatic setup when it gets larger, maybe 2/3 water. And yea, 55G minimum.

i'd say even a 55g would be too thin eventually, just like a 12" fish in a 55g i've seen a lot of pretty damn big bullfrogs, i'd look for at least a 4'x18" tank.
