Well after I lost this guy^^ I've just had my rose queen divided in a 55gallon. I've had random stuff in there but nothing I'd ever trying to breed her with so she's never really happy. Today I decided to move her in with my big male f1 barred midas. The midas was divided with it's 8" sibling that I raised him up with that I believe to be female. It has never laid eggs so today I decided to swap it with the rose queen.
the f1 male barred midas probably 9"+
8-9" female rose queen
blury picture but good profile shot of them both
As far as I know the mix for a rose queen is midasXsynspilum so if I breed these two the fry I produce will have 75% midas genetics. Kind of bad to produce watered down amphilophus hybrids with so many citrinellumXlabiatus floating around already but I will be responsible with their offspring if I am lucky enough to get some.
