Got six of the rbp the other day. They are in a 20 gal long. They are like 1/2" or so. I'm hoping to keep them in there 2-3 months. I have freinds looking for a 75 -100 gal at garage sales this summer. So far they've been eating flake and a beefheart recipe. Tiny pellets are still too big for their mouths. Gonna do some blood worm tonight. When they are this small will they share and tear into a whole shrimp? Or, should I cut it up anyway??

their teeth are really really tiny right now, they hardly even use it. your better off feeding them bloodworms and brine shrimp until they are bigger. grow them til about when you start seeing red on their fins, then they should be big enough for shrimp. it depends on your Ps, some will tear into a whole piece, or some might not touch it if its too big for them. so i'd say cut it up anyways.

With 6 RBPs that 20L is going to looks small fast. In 3 months your fish should be in the 2-3" range. Six 3" fish that are highly canablilistic in close quarters sounds like trouble to me!

Well, maybe it will only be two months. I'll keep on eye on em.

I tried a piece of krill today with 1/4 of a silverside. They left the silverside alone, and are trying to eat the krill. Threw in some homemade beefheart recipe and they gobbled that up.

Yes i got more than what's recommended in my 20 gal, they were .5 inches when i got them, now they are 1" each and its been 6 weeks. They are growing slow yet i feed them frozen bloodworms 2 times a day. just keep a look out on size and adjust tank size accordingly. =)
