So this is my third week of starving them. i have been giviing them peices of shrimp, squid, krill. for the past two weeks but they dont seem to have any interest in them. the are starting to get aggressive on each other. so im not sure what do, to make them eat.

i dont have any blackworms water, so is there an alternative to soak the meat in?

i have 3 marble motros about 10 inches, and 1 motoro about 6. the Pup, will eat shrimp, but it the bigger ones that is harder to break.

How long have you had them?

Have you tried chopped earth worms yet? Most rays I've dealt with don't refuse earth worms for long. The best part about earthworms IMO is that they are so slimy that they are a good flavoring device.

Ex.- Once your rays eat earthworms you can start chopping up worms and mixing in very small peices of chopped market shrimp. I like to put them all in a cup to "mix flavors" for a minute before feeding. The worms get so slimy when they are chopped that they will coat everything in the cup with the worms flavor. There for, the shrimp will taste like worms.

Another important thing I have found is the size of the new foods is important. The smaller the better. You wouldn't go take a huge mouthful of a bite when your unsure of the new food your trying, atleast I wouldn't.

i had them since may. I fed them night crawlers when i first got them. But now its time to get them onto better foods. Also a pound a shrimp is cheaper then a pound of night crawlers.

I went solely with earthworms with my flower when she first arrived and was not eating and sick.
When I finely got her eating all she would eat are/were worms. I figure well I will just feed that
till she has fattened up. Well 3 months later, She wouldn't touch anything else but crawlers, I starved
her for 5 days without luck.
So I cut up shrimp and crawlers and mixed them together, placed in frig so the shrimp would marinate
with the crawlers. She is now sampling the shrimp, I did the same with Tilapia and she
actually was eating some of it. So that would be my suggestion.

I am not a huge fan of starving for those long of periods. Its not good for them health wise,
plus as you have seen they can get aggressive and start taking chunks out of each other.
Once they realize the new offerings are food they usually will start eating it.

Crawlers can become quite addictive to rays.

That is why I posted directions for getting them to eat shrimp...:D
