hi, i was wondering if i can throw my 5 tetras into a 12-15 gallon tank to see if they will breed. they are currently in a 85 gal. how would i possibly block the eggs so that the fish dont eat them. can i use my underground filter things to block the fish from getting into the eggs? the ug will not be running. i just dont know if the eggs will fit through the slots.

Use a double layering of mables as substrate, and only fill the tank with about 7'' of water. This is what I do with Tiger Barbs and Cardinal Tetras. The eggs sink between the marbles where the adults can't reach them, and the lower water level makes the distance lesser.

thanx for the info dread, is it doable in a 12 gallon tank? how should i prep them and condition them?
