I have a pair of Oscars they bred at the lfs but I cant seen to put them in the mood do any of you have any hints or tricks to get them going?

Do you have anywhere for them to lay the eggs etc? Nice bit of slate goes down well...

Have use seen them "playing" may look like there being semi aggressive towards each other... lip licking, quivering etc?

WHEN THE WATER'S AT 80 DEGREES MY PAIR TAKES OFF AND LAY EGGS EVERY 11 TO 13 DAYS, EGGS HATCH IN 3 TO 5 DAYS THEN I REMOVE THE FRY AT 9 TO 10 DAYS, PROCESS STARTS OVER AND OVER. I TRY TO COOL MY TANKS AFTER 6 MONTHS TO 72 DEGREES TO GIVE THEM A BREAK FROM BREEDING, I FOUND THIS HELPS THE EGG COUNT STAY UP ARROUND 500+ IN EACH LAYING.

They had eggs at the lfs when I bought them I run the temp from 70-80f there’s a flat rock half covered some people say if you turn the temp down that works has anyone don that on here or is it better up ?
thanks for all the help
Jim

I PUT IT AT 80 AND POWER FEED THEM, AS LONGS AS THERE HAPPY WITH EACH OTHER THEY ALWAYS BREED FOR ME AT 80 DEGREES AND MAKES SURE TO DO YOUR WATER CHANGES WHEN YOU POWER FEED THEM. IF THE TANKS DIRTY, AND THE PH IS TO LOW THEN THEY WONT BREED.
