Hi, i am trying to build my first aquarium and its a five feet long , 1 feet wide and 1.5 feet tall... i have ordered glass which is 6 mm ...

since this is my first aquarium i would like to know :
1. If the glass width is ok?
2. How much time does Silicone (i am using the GE make most popular in india) take to set and how do i keep the glass in place?
3. is there any additional support required ( i read something about craces but i am not sure what it means)?

i would appreciate if someone could help me build my first aquarium by answering some of the questions above !

thanks
V V

Your glass will be fine, 1 week for the silicon to cure I was told, n o extra support should be needed since the tank is not giant (center brace still needs to be added)

I think it would be cheaper just to buy a 55gal tank. For the cost of glass and silicone. you could get a 55g set up tank filter lights heater for 125 bucks. just my .02

he is from india, probaly more exspencive there..

In aust every thing is expensive... A 55 gal costs 80 bucks (AU dollar) and the glass costs prolly more if you wanted the exact amount of glass. But if you bought in bulk i suppose you could pump out 5 55 gals for less than the normal proce of 5 55gals.
