guys i wanna buy 3 RBP's, what do you guys suggest as tankmates for them? or is it just purely a species tank for them? im a noob when it comes to piranhas.

Anything you add will eventually be eaten and i suggest you read the sticky's in the Piranha forums as it is very helpful and informative. Other than that best of luck with your Piranhas if you go ahead with them

Agree. Some have had luck with plecos but very few.

any of the pygocetrus of the venus can be cohabed with a good success rate. typically caribe are the most agressive the a close second are piraya, RBP come in last by far, but when they are with the other species they tend to be more agressive. of course every piranha has a different personality so that may the exception, but that is the general rule. and caribe and piraya can also be debated which i more agressive. but of having owned all 3 speicies that my caribe are by FAR more agressive than my piraya or rbps have been.

i would go with the species tank any thing else in the tank will eventually get eatin

I picked up a raphael cat which was in the sticky as suggested by a few and it seems to fare well especially since it hasnt come out once. It'll probly starve to death though. But for 6 bucks it's a fun experiment.

None to be safe. Although I had a pleco with my red bellies for life, but a lot of people were unsuccessful with keeping other fish with piranhas.

I've heard of rumors about if you have full grown RBPs or at least 10 inches plus that if you put smaller quicker fish like neon tetras in the tank that they will leave them alone because they would be to small to bother with. It seems like it should work in theory but I don't know of anyone who's tested it. Aside from that you can try a pleco and hopefully that will work out but your probably better off just having a species only tank.
