trying to escape?

my little nephews endy keeps trying to escape always jumping hitting the lid. earlier today he jumped over the divider can anyone tell me why? out of my 6 poly this is the first time for me.

quick reply i like haha! yeah hes a strong guy i think he wants to go to the side with the flowerhorn but i dont want the flowerhorn to rape him or do you think it would be ok? lol still waiting on my brother to finish the 75 so we can put the fh there and let the bichir use up all the space.
 
Dont let him go to the side of the flowerhorn. Either move the flowerhorn or make sure it is impossible to jump pass the dividers.
 
Bichirs are prone to jumping out of a tank, because they don't like the restriction of a flat wall. They will swim back and forth looking for a way around/over it, which usually ends up with a dried up bichir on the floor if the tank isn't covered properly.

lol he jumped over the divider again ending up in a messed up tail. moved the flowerhorn out and hes still doing it lol.

the tank is covered good i guess by me raising the divider he still got over.

does it have plenty of hiding spots? how big is the endi? how big is the tank?
no hiding spots doesnt make a difference for him. hes only 4-5" the tank is a 33 gallon QT.
