Trying to Figure Out What to Do With an Empty 75

I can't decide what to do. I know somewhere down the road, I'd like to do salt w/ a trigger only. I figured it would be too expensive, but maybe it won't. I apologize in advance for this thread and if I don't get any replies, I'll get the hint and do more research. I'm hoping to figure this out as quickly as I can, though, or I'll just make up my mind and get a Hoplias sp. or something.

What would I need to do to convert? I know I'll have to start over with the bacteria cycle, but what else? I was wanting to just do sand only, no corals or anything. I've been researching what trigger I want and what will fit into a 75 reasonably for a long time, if not life. What would your choice be? I currently have 2 Penguin 350 HOB's and an XP3. I used P350's on a brackish tank years ago and I'm pretty sure they'll work, but I'm not sure of the XP3. I'm sure I'll need more filtration. I guess that's it for now. Thanks.
 
i would do a humu humu or niger trigger.
you will need live rock and a good filter.
 
Niger was one of my choices. It's more my wavelength as far as looks go vs. a hummu hummu. Triggers are the only SW fish that really interest me.

So, I'll need to do live rock and can't just use live sand?

Fish Only With Live Rock..
and live sand or crushed coral..
good filtration is needed..

how much live rock?



i'm basically limiting my choices to Melychthys, Odonus or Balistapus sp.

I'm open to suggestions, though, so what eel would you suggest? I want something aggressive.
 
if you're going to to a species tank go all out and get one of the pretty triggers that are typically @holes in communities, clowns, queens, undgulates, etc

save the nigers and such for when you're trying to do a community
