Going into a 75G

1x Marine Betta
2x Occelaris Clownfish
1x Lawnmower Blenny
1x Dragon Sandsifter Goby
3x Bangaii Cardinalfish
1x Royal Gramma

My main concern in this stocking is the fear of a marine betta eating some of my smaller fish... is that fear unfounded or should I be worried?

My fiancee absolutely loves the Marine Betta, so I pretty much have to get it at this point :banher:

I would do 5x of the cardinals.

Multiple blennies in a system that size might not like each other either. They can be fiesty.

Are you speaking on the blenny and the goby?

If so, they are already in the tank and get along fine... they have set their territories at opposite ends of the aquarium.

Also, any opinion about the marine betta with the ocellaris clowns and the cardinals?

I would think that if you buy the Betta small enough allowing time for everything to grow together that everything would be big enough to not get eaten. Whether or not that would happen would be my only concern. Otherwise your stock list looks good.

Betta's dont get too big...as long as they cant fit it into their mouths, you should be good.

Betta shouldn't eat anything, the fish would have to be really, really tiny (like smaller than 1"). I've worked at stores selling them for years and I can't remember anyone returning or complaining about them eating stuff other than Peppermint or small Cleaner shrimp.

Ok, I had just read about them eating small fish and I thought to myself "well the Ocellaris are probably only going to get to 3 1/2" and that's pretty small".

So it's unlikely I can have cleaner shrimp though?

Probably not, but you could try it. If you buy the Betta pretty small I am pretty sure he wouldn't go after it until he was bigger and if he is used to having the shrimp in there he may leave it alone. If you are ever going to try it, the shrimp needs to be in the tank first.

Ditto ^^. Just get a big one and put it in first, it'll be fine. A 3.5" Clown is pretty big, no Marine Betta I've ever seen is gonna eat that.
