trying to finf name of a certain fish.

I have seen it in various aquariums. One guy who had a huge amount of large fish in a tank had a couple.

they look like a cichlid. Are bright orange with black bars, kinda have a pinted or sloped face. Seem to get about as big as a large oscar.

any help would be apreeshed!

Any other notable markings? Such as eye-spots on the tail, dorsal fins, etc ?


So far it sounds like a festae.


Unless of course, it is a Datnoid... Then I would have to suggest looking at cichlids more carefully. lol

yes indeed but he also mentioned bright orange which i have yet to see on datnoids thats what led me to believe other wise..
