hi ive been feeding my peacock bass pellets for his whole life and recently i bought nightcrawlers for him to try it out but then he doesnt like it, he eats them and then later spit them out or sometimes he just doesnt even eat it, he'd mess around with the worm until is dead but he doesnt actually eat it. i've tried alternative live food like shrimp but he doesnt like it so can anyone help me

yeah fish can be funny like that. My arowana who is supposed to love nightcrawlers refuses to touch them. The cichla i have in my 240 will only eat pellets, wont touch shrimp at all.

Your bass would probably eat live feeders, but i wouldnt recommend it unless you have either QT the feeders for at least 2 weeks or have produced them yourself.

So I guess I'll have to always fees him pellets huh sucks because I wanted him to eat live food to make it interesting

I think your the first fish keeper, thats trying to get his Bass on live instead of off live.............Be happy he won't eat live, thats a good thing.

why change something that the fish has been doing his whole life.. everything he needs is in the pellet as long as the pellet is good quality..sometimes fish do know best..lol

i think something is wrong with his stomach that he cannot digest worms or something i see him chew a little piece of nightcrawler for 30 mins then he just spit it out
im still in the process of starving him until he accept the worms i bought, i dont want it to go as a waste

if this is what you truly think.. then why starve him to eating something he cannot eat or has trouble with digesting.. i don't care about waste if it means a fishes health.. "priority" is the key here ... stop and think .. it would be a waste to lose the fish...just be happy he is eating his pellets.. and forget the night crawlers..

Ummmm my kelberi only eat live:irked:, still trying to get them to eat pellet so be happy with your scenario.;)
