so I was feeding hikari to my fish but I ended switching to NLS cuz it is cheaper to buy in bigger bulks here.... but anyway I have 2 pbass, 1 aro, 1 rtc, 1 florida gar.... ive been feeding the floating 7.5mm stuff and the one bass is eating only took him like a few days but the smaller bass wont even flinch or look at it the aro wont touch it either.... how long should I wait them out or should I continue feeding the NLS constantly and hope they take it ? the one bass that eats it is getting huge tho lol any help or tips would be great thanks :)

I'm in the same situation as you - trying to get an adult Trimac onto NLS. At a week of starvation now & he still won't even look at the pellets!

ive been feeding nls for 3 weeks now lol...ive fed some of the left over hikari once or twice and some tilapia but he wont touch the nls .... don't know what to do

Don't feed anything else but the NLS. Giving the fish Hikari and talapia has set you back. Also if this is a solo fish it may take longer than fish in a comunity where compatition for feeding and seeing other fish eat it helps them recognize it as food.

Yeah my carpintis will take the 3mm NLS then he will spit it out. Other times he'll take it and eat it. I don't know why mine sometimes will spit it out and other days will eat it

not a solo fish like mentioned in the first post I made ;) well i'll stick to nls then till the start eating it but how long do I wait before feeding somethig else so he doesn't starve to death

Try soaking the pellets in Seachem Garlic Guard. Never had to use it myself, but I've heard people had success getting fish off live and onto pellets with this stuff.

BTW, a grown fish can go for months (and reportedly years) before it would actually succumb to starvation

Wow, that's a long time .... Guess I'll stick to feeding nls till they all eat it then

Well, you also have to be cautious because going hungry could also make it mean and aggressive towards other residences.

What size pellets are you using? How big is the fish?
