HI ive had my 150 since july and have never got it to stay clean or clear....

I have 3 oscars which are around 6 inches
and 2 pacu which are 8-9 inches
and 1 pleco around 6 inches

for filtration i thought i had enough i started with 1 sunsun 304 hw canister... then i got another so i run both them..... but still the water is dirty looking

I took out my driftwood which i thought was problem but nothing changed.... still dirty looking water.... what else can i do?? can i add a hang on back filter ? like a big aquaclear 110?

My 55g goldfish/koi tank is sparkling clear with a hob filter and canister... i want the 150 to do same if possible..

what do all yall run on your bigger tank to stay clear? or am i doing something wrong?

my media is both filters are carbon, bio rings, bio balls...

thanks again

You have some very dirty fish my friend, how often do you feed? What is water change schedule? I would suggest a sump, uv sterilizer, and some sort of water polishing filters like nuclear canisters etc.

HI i do a 50 % water change each week, yes i know my fish are dirty... i have a uv sterilizer on both canisters now... I just bought another canister im gonna run 3 and hope its not too much filtration... i bought the
Odyssea cfs 1100 gph its huge ... so it should help

thanks

HI f1 vet... what do you mean? can u point me to the right site to buy the filter sheets??? how much filtration is too much now i will have 3 canister filters.. i dont want over kill

Really need to consider a few things:
Adding canisters is just adding to the clutter and energy consumption. When are you going to stop? After the down tubes create a "downtube forest"?
The filter manufacturer may claim 1100gph, but that is usually a rating given to a filter without media and at 0-1' of head pressure.
The fish you have will only get bigger, much bigger and then what? More filtration? Yep. But the real question is, what kind of filtration?

My opinion, address the issue with as simple a solution as possible. A simple change in the filter media you are currently using could be the answer. Increasing the frequency in cleaning or replacing the mechanical filtration could also be the solution.

Keeping large growing fish will require more maintenance than keeping smaller varieties. Simply increasing the frequency in filter maintenance could be the answer to clearer water in your tank.
