Either South American Mesoheros ornatus or M gephyrus.
duanes
Agree with Rocksor its either Mesoheros gephyrum, or ornatum
They (it) comes from th western lowlands on the slope of the Andes mountains,

Closely related to M festae, and M atrocaculatum.
I have found them "not" to be too aggressive although dither fish kept from tearing each other apart, in the right size tanks, I kept them in a 150 gal, growing mine out from 1" juvies
.

The only other cichlids they would see on their side of the Andes, might be those of the genus Andinoacara, or Geophaggus pellegrini, or steidachneri which could be problematic aggression wise.
My preference for tank mates would be large geographically correct tetras

They also seemed to do well with dissimilar looking cichlids.

Those with similar spangles, brought out territoriality and aggression
