Ok so heres the story... In my 75gallon but soon to be 150g I have a 6" red tailed Payara, 5" Tarpon, 6"ATF, and a 8" Marbled Motoro. Besides the fact that the tank is a bit small for these growing fish, I am having a problem especially at night keeping the payara from attaching both the tarpon and the ATF but now that the ATF has some meat on him and has grown from 4" to 6" almost he fights back.

Until this point I have only seen the payara take scales off the two silversided tank mates on occasion but no major injuries or even blood.

Last night about an hour after feeding i turned the light on and the Payara had a gash or lacerations between his dorsal and tail fin. This wound is consistant with the wounds i would see my ATF inflict on others when i bought him from a species tank at Shark Aquarium.

Before moving them to the 150 that is almost ready to begin cycling, how do i solve this aggression issue because the tarpon is now being attached by both the ATF and the Payara and i feel it will only get worse with age and size.

Should I get another Tat so they can scoal like the ATF and tarpon used to to before aggression started? or will the move to a larger tank be all that i need?

Lastly I was hoping to keep my Azul Cichla in the 150 with the ray and the 3 i mentioned. Has anyone kept a Pbass with a ATF before?

You are keeping them in too small of a tank (150g will quickly be included in that) and they are incompatible... they won't stop fighting.

this combo has been done numerous times.....but w/ tanks in the 300g minimum.

Yea i knew it has been done all over. Thanks I guess i need to go shopping for a larger tank soon. How long to do you think i have. both payara and ATF are not off live food yet.

from experience my payara's grew pretty damn fast.

did you have tats or armatus? cuz iv never seen a tat larger than 11" i had one by itself in a 75 and he did fine. Eating mostly shrimp. What type do you own or did own and were they aggressive with eachother?

i have a friend who had a tat grow to 15" in a 350++ gal tank

wow Xander thats cool. i would love mine to get that large. im hoping the 150 allows the ATF and the tat to calm down for a while until they outgrow that tank and i have to start shopping for a 300. But i just got the 150 and man was it B**ch getting it in the house so i physically wont be able to get another one for a while. I dont even know if with the dolly trick i will be able to get a 300 through my basement door lol.
