Ok heres the story I came to this forum a couple months ago for several reasons and I'm loving it. Before coming here I was a very active member of another forum but started looking around for another for a couple reasons and landed here. Now before coming here I was planning on setting up a 150 gallon community tank. Well after being here for awhile as you can probably see I've changed my find and now I want a predator tank. Now I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to fish keeping but when it comes to preds I'm not so much the forum I came from mainly dealt with smaller community fish and fishkeeping as a whole. Well now that I'm a MFK member I want to live up to the name and get some monsters myself.
Right now I've have an Oscar and 5 clown loachs in the 150 but I'm going to be sticking them back in a 75 were they were a few months ago. At first I was going to keep the clowns in there but two are really small and the other three are still kinda small compared to there fullgrown size. Well since I decided I want a poly or two I've decided to move the clowns for now because I don't want the smaller ones getting ate or the bigger ones getting death rolled. Once I feel comfortable with there size I can move them back but I feel that won't be for a long time.
Anyways on to the question as I mentioned I don't really know much about preds at all or even the different kinds there are even though I've be researching for about a month now. Alot of the ones I like are to big for a 150.
So far I know I want a poly or two and a dat. I'd like a catfish I really like the lima shovel nose but seeing how they can get 18 inch's and my tank is 18 inch's wide I'm thinking thats not a good idea.
Want I'm wanting your guys help with is compiling a list of preds and such that I can do some research on and make my stock list. Really the only requirement I have is that they can live there whole lives in a 150.
So if anyone has any names for me please share I'm getting my second fx5 this weekend so all I need is a 55 for my GT and then I'll be ready to stock.
