TSN + 8 inch FL Gar?

Would a 10 inch Tiger Shovelnose work with an 8 inch Florida Gar?
I saw them selling a couple of TSN's at my LFS.

Any ideas?

A lot of mixed opinions on this on this. However the TSN is a eating machine and will eat all of the food leaving none for the gar. So you will have to make extra effort to make sure the gar is getting proper nutrition i.e. eating enough food. I would get the TSN that is smaller than the gar by at least a couple of inches instead of what you have. I recently acquire one that is 18" and he lives with two FL gars. one 18"-17" and one that is 10". Mine was raised with gar so i have had no problems with him. What size tank do you have?

my tsn has never bothered my gar even though he and the rtc are much larger....actually they all huddle up together sometimes.

Thanks for the feedback - at my LFS they have lots of TSN's ranging from 3 inches to about 12 so size is not a problem.

I have one with my FL gar and my gar actually moves the TSN around for the food and does not bite just makes sure he eats first its really cool to see
