I'm planning to get an arowana and a TSN for my big pond- however, i know TSN are fast growers and notorius for eating just about anything that moves, soooo. Would a 6'' TSN be okay with a 5'' arowana in a 10'x30'' pond?

Thanks,
Art

I think they should be fine together. Both have fast growth rates.

the aro should be able to keep up growth rate wise. Also, in that big of a pond, the aro will have plenty of room to hide from the tsn.

Thanks. Yeah, i thought so. I also though that since aros are "top dwellers" and TSN(at least juvies) bottom dwellers they wouldn't run into each other...

it might work ok, but i would get a slightly larger aro. the aro should have a slower growth rate at that size are are REALLY fragile. I'm not sure how fragile TSN are (never actually had one), but ideally, aros should be left pretty much alone until they get a little bigger...just a precaution, but they will probably be fine.

my 12"jar lives with 2x 12" TSNs and 2x 11"ish RTCs
and he rules the tank and does remind the other fish who is the boss when someone tries taking his food
