I've got a Juvie TSN at 4" in my 40 Gallon Tall. The other fish are a 4"JD and a 5" GT. These fish are actually pretty docile as long as they don't invade each others space. They don't bother the TSN at all but it seems that he can't get to the food before them!:nilly: The shrimp all gets eaten by the Cichlids and he barely gets any! I never see his belly bulge. I've tried pellets but the cichlids once again rule of the TSN (for now at least).
What do you guys suggest I could do to get him to eat easier. My RTC was much easier then this guy.

I have mine with arowanas and dorados. Unless I serve food right in front of him, he doesn't get anything. I suggest you to:

Get a pvc pipe to drop food through it front of his nose OR get a planting tong (that's what I use). It'll be trained to take food in no time.

Well - it sounds like your fish are "starving" at feeding time.

Simply give them a little extra... Or a lot extra....

i would go with rosy reds put about 15 in and ur cichlids will eat some too and while ur cichlids are eating them some will swim down for cover then ur TSN can eat some

Hmmm... I've grown my TSN to his current 12" since he was about 2", and I've always kept him with some fast and aggressive eaters. For some reason though, his stomach was always HUUUGGGEEE.

It may depend on the personality of the fish, but I always had a lot of plants and driftwood, and the shrimp pellets would fall down underneath them and stuff, to where the fast eaters didn't always find them. And then, when the TSN started scavenging through the tank at night, he'd eat the left-overs under and in between all of the decorations.

What I also did was I used to feed the fast eaters first. After they had finished eating, I would shut the lights off, wait 30 minutes, and then drop in some more food. By the time I fed them the second time, the catfish was up and swimming around.

Good luck, and have fun with the TSN, cuz once he starts eating, he's gonna start growing before your eyes!!! lol

Gonzaga, I know exactly what you are going through...feed the cichlids normally,a nd then, at night, with lights off, feed the tsn with quick sinking pellets:)

I would not give more food..try this method first...:)

I've had the same problem man and finally I got my tsn to eat sinking carnivore pellets. I have him in with a 4.5" Oscar and 2 3.5-4" pacu I just try to keep them on top with their cichlid pellets and put enough sinking pellets to get down to the bottom. He has a nice round belly now. which makes me happy because I hate quarantining feeders. Damn disease carrying vermin. :)

Right now i have a 3 inch TSN in with a similiar sized Pbass,J.D.,and a Firemouth cichlid, what i do is i feed the other fish 1st,then i cut up some worms throw them in 1st and then some larger pieces of worm(the other fish cant eat the bigger pieces but my TSN has no problem with the bigger pieces)My TSN always looks fat.:WHOA:
