okay, im not experienced with these fish, so i need a little help. I have a 4 inch rtc who has been in my tank over a week by himself, and last night i added a very small probably 2.5 inch tsn. Will the rtc see him as food? or should they get along? i havent turned the lights off yet, so the rtc hasnt gone into hunting mode really, ive just been feeding him shrimp and worms, no feeders. anyone who's done this before, let me know what happened.

yep, anything that can fit in a RTC mouth, WILL be eaten. and, IMO, RTC grow alot faster then TSN.

I had the same combo and it worked fine for me, but then again my TSN was double the size of the RTC when i got them. With the growth rate of the RTC he will have the TSN for lunch in no time. So in my opinion you better find a different tank for one of the 2 cats..

I'd say when housing them together it's best to have a close to full grown tsn first then start growing out a rtc. In about a year to two years you can safely house a rtc with the full grown tsn. Then depending on how big your rtc grows he may still outgrow and eat your tsn.
