I have owned my TSN for about 2 months now and he really isnt visibly growing. He eats like a horse twice a day and is about 4 inches and in a 40 gallon growout. Yet, the RTC that I got at the same time was about 2 inches smaller than him and in the last month has put on about 2 inches in 3 weeks and is now bigger that him. Water params are perfect and he fills his belly up every time he is fed. Temp is at 80 degrees.

Are some TSN slower growers than others? Why hasnt he had the speedy growth rate that they are famous for?

My experience tells me that the wild caught ones from South America grow much slower than the farm bred ones from Asia. I notice most farm bred ones are P. tigrium, which grows faster than P. fasciatum, mostly wild caught.

I also learned that females grow faster than males.

In my experience, rtc's grow faster than tsn's. I got my tsn around 10" in August and he's now around 18". Got my rtc around 2-3" in November and he's now 18".
