Hi, im picking up a smallish tsn (15cm), how long will it be able to live in a 6x2? Provided it has good water quality and fed often. I've already got a 7ft x 3 1/2ft setup and I will move him to that when bigger. Then future plans from there...
Until it reach 1/1.5 feet. I don't like to keep tsn bigger than that in an aquarium since they get scared easily and bash the glass. I raised mine with siblings so, not much room for 7 tsn.
If you have good water quality and are providing the proper amount of good food, you have maybe 3-4 months before it hits 1 foot. Then, if it were mine, I'd move it to a pond or larger tank.
Some people might hold it longer in a 2 foot wide tank, but you shouldn't especially since you already have a 7x3.5 setup.
Agree with the Doc there. I'd not keep a TSN over 1' in a 2'-wide tank.
The time depends on how "runty" your runt TSN is. They are all runts, refuse, all culled from TSN fish farms. Some still able to attain 2.5' in years. Some appear to get stuck at 1.5' for years.
