I got him at 3-4 inches as a wild caught fasciatum but in another thread I was told it could not be and after a quick google search I say it looks more like a tigrinum... He is around 8-9 inches

8"-9" is too small for a good guess yet IMHO but since he is 1.5 years, maybe we could try. Talking about the common ones - tigrinum, fasciatum, and reticulatum - it looks more like the first one. Punctifer I only saw once or twice. All others, it appears to me they (almost) never enter the trade. If I am wrong, it may resemble orinocoense, metaense, and magdaleniatum.

I think the tigrinum in this comparison chart may be a bit atypical http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?322161-TSN-ID-Chart-Pseudoplatystoma but I enjoy being corrected and learning.

I was gonna say.. they'll tell you what they told me =) wait another year ! He is a very pretty fish though!

Unfortunately, Shane gave it away. So we'll not know (not likely) its fate. It was unusual in two ways - very slow growth rate and the yellow coloration.
