Definitely a fasciatum. Hope you didn't pay the corruscans price.

Let me call in the TSN guru wednesday13 wednesday13 just for his pleasure. He likes the dorsal shots. They help him hone his tools.

It seems to have a straight snout. No duck bill deformity, right?

I paid $15 when it was small. It does not have a deformed snout.

That's the usual TSN price for a low quality fasciatum or a hybrid originating as a cull from food fish farming in SA or from SE Asia farmed for the ornamental fish trade.

I am much surprised anyone would label it as corruscans.

Could it not be reticulatum?

In UK we get mainly tigrinum but am still going by planetcatfish photos here, not up on any further changes.

I don't think so, unless you are recalling more than 2-3 decades ago.

For the last 20 years, the whole world has been swarmed with these inferior TSNs. The only deviation from the norm are the WC fish (accounting for 0.001% of the total number sold), which takes time to confirm whether true or not.

And they are always the same species or the same hybrid, both of which look fasciatum.
