I have a tsn thats about 6 months old about 12 inches and latley he has not been eating like crazy like he normally does. he just kinda eats a few frozen krills when they are dropped in front of him. but doesn't eat all that much. has anyone had this problem. and what should i try to get him back to eating like crazy so he will start growing again he hasen't eating that much in 2 months and hasn't grown much.

What are your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels?

Does he appear bloated or swollen at all?

all levels are perfect and have not changed sence i put him in the tank. no he is not swollen or bloated at all

I'm guessing you probably have kept fish long enough to know if the water looks good, but its often these times we let something slip and say our parameters are perfect, when something has happened and they're not.

Or maybe they really are perfect, but I'd say its worth breaking out the kit and checking everything just to make sure if you didn't already.

My other idea would be the fasting period. Are you allowing the TSN to fast for a day or two between large meals?

I've always been nervous about subjective terms such as "okay" and "perfect." The reason for this is that I've routinely heard people say of RTCs "You know that fish grows big." And the the other will say, "I've got a 125 gallon!" "Big" is relative, as are "okay" and "perfect" -- they mean different things to different people. Numbers are objective data which can then be interpreted, so they always work a lot better.

Combine this with the fact that most folks who keep these cats don't keep them in the right conditions (I'm not saying this is what's going on, but only what seems to be the standard) and you've got a situation which begs for numbers, not subjective observation, when trying to diagnose illness.

quick hint for anyone asking questions concerning fish that are either sick or acting abnormal....i learned from experience, if you want to ask on MFK about it, please have your water test levels available.
