thinking of adding a cat. im debating between the 2. what are their personalities and growth rates like? i saw 2 large lima's at my LFS. should i get a pair? thanks

how bigs your tank go for the TSn if you have the room but if you wan't a smaller shovel nose go for the lima

for groups i've heard that they can be aggressive when in groups of 2 but they can't really harm each other so you could keep more then one in the wild they hunt in large packs so 1 or more then 3 would be the best numbers

Stick with the limas unless you have a HUGE tank. TSN's grow faster and get a lot larger than limas but have similar personalities.

I like the TSN's but it really depends on the tank you have.... Limas will max out at maybe 20" or so and TSN's 2-3 feet... So really you must make the call....

i like the way tigers look better. u think it will get along with rays and an armatus? the tank is a 450

Thats not a mix that I'd be willing to try. TSN's are normally sedate cats but they are VERY strong for thier size.

armatus and rays both come to life at night too. shoot im runnin out of ideas for tankmates. i only have 3 fish so far...

you can try it...its not knowing if its bad or not without trying it...if it turned out bad then you could just get the TSN out to another tank...Besides they are night time fishes so they are always wandering around lookin for a prey but they cant prey on something to same size to even a slight couple of inches wont hurt anyone.
