My LFS has two there small, about 2-3" .

Anyone know how big these buggers get?

Are they as voracious as RTCs?

Is 25.00 a good price for one?

25 is a great price, growth rate and adult sizes are comparable to the RTC. They eat like a tsn, sometimes like a rtc. Have a rtc temperment, and are awesome. Mine is 37", and is about 3.5 years old

there awesome i just bought one from shark aquarium and hes eatting rosies like a champ, mine was only 16 bucks but i thouht that was really cheap

cool what tank is he in? I dont wanna buy one an have it be ginormous an get to big for my 120Wide.

Right now he's in a 350 gal 6' dia cattle trough. He's been in it for 2.5 years. Right now I am working on my 4000-6000 gal aquarium, but because of the costs involve it will be an ongoing project. Until then I have plans to buy 2, 550 gal aquariums. One for the big guy, and the other for the other smaller catfish in my sig. I will keep the 350 up and running as my lima pond, and hopefully get them to breed eventually.

Nice, If I bought one of the lil ones I saw t the LFS itd be in my 75 until it was large enough to avoid any threat of being eaten by my huge RCK that in my 120.

Just be warned that I've seen pics of some over 22" in the first year. Others have only grown to 16-18" in the first year, but 22" is not unheard of. That gives you roughly 6 months to 10 months in the 75 and a year to a year and a half in the 120 gal. The two tanks I am buying are 96" x 48" x 30". I expect those to last many, many years lol. One will be just for the big boy.
