hello all, fairly new here but been around for a while sucking up info. hehe. i just got 2 tiny baby tsn about 2-3 inches and have them in a 20g. my question is, can i put them into my empty 90g all to them selves? and i also have a few convicts to put in there with them which are also small, dont care if they get eaten later on. would this be too much space for them now? its a custom 60"x18"x18" i believe. need info. thanks.

and i know they get huge, my friend has an indoor pond for one and i am getting my tub soon for the one that i will keep. so no worries, they are not staying in the 90 for life. the next step from the 90g will be into my 200g, then the indoor pond. thanks mfkers!:cool-1:

you can never have too much space for your fish and your convicts will get eaten within like 2-3 months because of the growth rate of the TSN i have had mine for 6-7months i got him when he was 4" now he is 15":WHOA: their growth rate is 1-2" per month.

what are you feeding him?

they could live in there for atleast 8-9 months.

do you plan on having any tankmates with him later on?if so what kind?

:welcome:o yeah i forgot welcome:welcome:

thank you bro for the extremely quick response. like i said, the cons are gonna go in with them. they can be food, i dont care. i got a breeding pair that constantly pushes out babies. the cons are about the same size as them. as far as deco, should i decorate the tank or just keep it bare with some gravel?

add plants you really dont need any decorations

o yeah do you have a bubbler in your 90 gallon?

no bubbler. do i need one? dont they also need a place to hide at that tiny size?

yes when they are small but when they get big there is no point of having a decoration

i would recommend that so he can get some oxygen i thought i didnt need one but all my fish were breathing heavy so i put in 2 bubblers and now they are fine in my 75gallon so i would recommend it especially if your filter stops running

by the way what kind of filter do you have any way?

as far as filtration goes, i have 2 penguin 330 and one fluval 304 on the 90. the tsn will be going in to an indoor pond 6 ft in diameter much like necrocanis's setup. i will see if i need the bubbler and put some on to my 90. i just moved the two tsn to the 90g right now and i will moniter them. hopefully they like the extra growout room. now they look even smaller. i put 2 big lava rocks in their with them so they can get some hideouts.
