So I got back from out of town this past few days and found my 240 in a pretty jacked up state, water paremeters were all messed up and my pH was like 5.5.....needless to say the fish were very stressed and my Lima shovelnose looked the worst. I was fairly certain that it wouldn't pull through based on how bad it looked already but did a massive water change, pH change with alkaline buffer, prime, melafix, etc. Anyhow the next day I went to work and came home late, checked the tank for the Lima and upon the initial look didn't see it, thought crap I guess it died so I start looking on the top or behind the driftwood for it floating dead because usually it sat in the same spot on the driftwood...no sign of it anywhere...then I see the TSN come around the corner with a huge belly and a tail sticking out of its mouth
The TSN 18-20" ate the 12" or so Lima which I'm assuming after the Lima died during the day or was close enough to death that the TSN thought it was a meal. They have been living peacefully together for 2years almost and my TSN is very peacefull always so I guess the Lima just didn't pull through and the TSN ate it. Either way it sucked because I loved my Lima but still couldn't resist taking a few pics because it was still pretty awesome seeing that TSN eat a fish that big
Sorry for the dirty glass they were quick pics ~Trent
