In the fish section LOL
I have had my baby tsn for over 5 days now and he hasn't eaten a single thing to my knowledge. I have tried frozen krill bloodworms, silversides freeze dried krill and pellets he has not gone near any of those. Yet he is not on the verge of dieing when i turn the light on in the morning he swims all over seaching for food.

He is in a 30 gallon grow our with 2 baby 3 inch pbass he is 2.5" might the tank be too large that he is not able to find food? i tried jigging the food in front of him and he has not taken it from me. I want to stay away from live if at all possible.

The overall idea of this post is I WANT TO GET SOMETHING IN HIS BELLY ASAP!

all responses will be appreciated

Hi

I have had my TSN since he was 4-5” when he was small I had the same problems I found the best think to get him feeding were worms. I used to nip the tail off so it was wiggling like a mad thing and oozing juices out and drop then on his nose when the tank was in darkness this was a sure fire way of getting him to feed. It defiantly worked as he is 18” now.

I crumbled the krill up so it is small and more easily edible for my new cats. My tsn wouldn't eat at first either. I ended up feeding him some rosies to start with and after he had a couple of them and got use to his new territory, he now happily eats krill like crazy and no live food. If you do feed live food just make sure to quarantine and medicate them for a couple days first. Are there any signs of sickness on your fish? Remember also it is not unusual for catfish to fast due to stress when they are first introduced to a new tank. I found also that keeping a little salt in the water and keeping the temps higher makes them feed more, also reduces sickness. I put one teaspoon per 5 gals. Just make sure to break up worms in small chunks if you use them. Everyone has given you really good advice good luck. Keep us posted.

hey

are you thawing the frozen food a little before you drop it in the tank? try putting it into a shot glass with some water for a few minutes. this way when you drop it in, the blood will mingle in the water and arouse the atttention of the TSN. turn out the lights and let it sit there.

he will get it.
