My tsn i got 2 days ago got ick and now wont move or eat. the first day i got him he ate alot of frozen bloodworms but not he wont eat anymore. Is it the ick that took away his appetite and his movement? I mean he moves but not very much. Hes in my 90 gallon til my 240 gets set up. Hes getting moved into a hospital tank to cure his ick. One more question he kinda has a reddish tint to his body also. is that bad ? If i can find my digital camera ill take some pics of that.

yeh the only two things i can think of r that u either overfed him blood worms on the first day u got him (which u shouldnt have done especially on the stressful first day), the bloodworms were bad and made him sick ORRRR he was already sick to begin with and now the sickness has gotten worse. hope u figure it out soon! good luck.

i have him in a hospital tank with some ick guard II so hopefully things turn out for the best. i dont think the bloodworms are bad cause no one els got sick. going to treat the big tank for ick also.

would ick guard II be ok if i used it to treat my community tank with rays? or will it harm them?

Im not sure about that med your using, but I know with most you should half dose when using on a catfish, or fish with no scales.

Salt also works great, thats what I use, and its gone by 2 days usually. With salt all you have to do is put it in and with some meds, you have to dose a few times

i agree with the salt, used it for the first time on a tank a few weeks ago. Ich gone in no time, and didnt even lose any fish. Best thing is you dont have to redose, dont have to remove filters.

day 2 i moved my tsn into a hospital tank and ick has gotten alot better. how much salt should i use? he is eating also so thats good too. will salt harm my clown loaches, german blue rams, angels, or stingrays? or my tsn?

I usually use 2 teaspoons per gallon, ofcourse get some tank water in a cup and mix it. Slowly add. here is a link to read about how to do it and all that other good stuff. Mid page is where it tells you the amount http://aquafacts.net/components/com_mambowiki/index.php/Ich

Yeah Ive never lost a fish using salt. Its pretty good. And like fishlover88 said, you dont have to worry about removing the carbon from filters and having to dose it so many times.

would it be ok if i use salt even tho i already used some of the meds?
